Information We Collect with our InterCLASS Cloud Software
We collect information to provide a cloud-based classroom management software for any GSuite Education user that has authenticated himself by logging into his Google account whether on a desktop machine or a Chromebook.
InterCLASS Cloud Software collects the following School-managed account information:
As an Admin User (Administrator or Principal):
We require you to sign up for an InterCLASS Cloud Account to use the teacher console. When you do so, we will ask for personal information, like your name, email address (GSuite for Education), telephone number. The email address will be added to the InterCLASS Cloud System.
As a Teacher User:
You will need to be signed up for a Google account to be able to use the Teacher Console. We require a G-Suite email address in order to add your registration to the system. The InterCLASS Cloud extension will then be required to be added to your Chrome browser, either on a PC, Mac or Chromebook.
Teachers (and other Admin users) can view the classroom drive with InterCLASS Cloud through the authenticated Google Drive API access.
As a Student User:
You need to sign up for a GSuite Education/ Google account and then we will collect your email address. The InterCLASS Cloud extension and App will then be enforced onto your Chromebook.
Information We Collect with our InterCLASS Filtering Service Software
The InterCLASS Filtering Service provides students with a secure web browsing experience by communicating with the Chrome extensions in their Chrome browsers and the filtering server.
InterCLASS Filtering Service Software collects the following School-managed G Suite account (email address) information for service authentication:
As an Admin User (Administrator or Principal):
Administrators add and save a student’s G Suite account (email address) to our filtering server in order to authenticate with student access to the server.
As a Student User:
In order to enable the filtering service, students must log in to the filtering server with their current G Suite account (email address).
We provide a single-sign on (SSO) experience for this authentication. The InterCLASS Filtering Service Chrome Extension retrieves the current signed in G Suite account (email address) on the Google profile by the chrome.identity API and then uses the account to sign in to the filtering server automatically on behalf of the students.
How the InterCLASS Filtering Service Chrome Extension blocks inappropriate websites:
The Chrome Extension monitors and retrieve URLs from the Chrome browser's address bar. The retrieved URLs are sent to the Filtering Data Base server. The Filtering Data Base server checks if those URLs are in any restriction categories. If a URL is in a restriction category, then the server will command the Chrome Extension to stop loading the restricted URL content on the browser, and then it will display a pre-defined restriction message page on the browser to prevent users to access those inappropriate websites.
The InterCLASSS Filtering Service Chrome Extension communicates and transfer user data to the Filtering Database servie by using HTTPS communication protocol. All user data is encrypted and handled securely.
If CHIeru and Kaminari Education needs, or is required, to contact you concerning any event that involves information about you, we may do so by email, telephone, or mail.
